Dar es Salaam - Mikumi


Area: 3230km²
Early departure from Dar es Salaam (approx. 05.30) towards Mikumi National Park. Breakfast is served on the way to Mikumi National Park. From Dar es Salaam it takes about 8 hours to reach the entrance to Mikumi National Park. Lunch box is served while check-in to the park takes place. Afternoon safari in Mikumi National Park.
Mikumi National Park is lying just to the North of the famous Selous Game Reserve and 283km away from Dar es Salaam. Parts of Mikumi is often compared with Serengeti because of it's open landscape.
The park is excellent for game drive with its open plains and if you’re lucky you might see pride of lions roaming around or relax under the shade of acacia trees.

Udzungwa Mountains National Park


Area: 1990km²
After breakfast a two hour drive from Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Tracking to the famous Sanje waterfall through the tropical rainforest even called "Galapagos of Africa" because of it's rich biodiversity. The area includes about 2500 different plant species witch about 25% is endemic to the area. Also there is about 400 bird species and also primates like the Iringa red colobus. In the afternoon return to hotel in the Mikumi area.
